Maier Madness

Ohhh to be blogging again!

So first things first - as you notice, our url has changed from www.our2boyfamily.blogspot.com to www.maiermadness.blogspot.com ... there is a perfectly good explanation for this; we are no longer going to have a 2 boy family ... we are either going to be a 3 boy family, or a 2 boy/1 girl family. Yup, that's right, I'm pregnant! Surprise!

The last time I was actively blogging was about a year ago. Life got me carried away, and by popular demand (meaning the same 3 people who ask me every week why my blog isn't updated), I'm baaaaack!

Let's initiate a quick catch-up session:
Nathan and I had a beautiful Catholic wedding on October 2. We were luckily enough to share our special day with many family and friends, who came from all over the states to support our marriage. It was a beautiful event, and we are so blessed to have shared our love in front of all the people we care about.

Although our wedding was a fairytale, and the honeymoon further solidified our fairytale, reality did eventually take over. We had to say goodbye to a wonderful woman - Grandma, you're forever in our hearts. We also suffered a miscarriage. And those sad events are ok, because life goes on. We have an amazing family, incredible friends, and 2 very beautiful, healthy, smart children. We are lucky in love, and as a family, we can overcome many obstacles.

Nathaniel -
Is now a national claims manager for the company he has been with for almost 10 years. He travels to Chicago for about 8-10 days a month, and he seems to be enjoying his job. He likes to golf, and loves spending time with Will and Jake.

Will -
Is in 1st grade, and doing amazingly at school! He is a smart boy (and I'm not just bragging, seriously), and is definitely exceling in Math especially. He is really active, and is very passionate about whatever activity is interesting him at the moment. As usual, he tries his hardest to make people laugh, and because of it, is becoming our own little social butterfly. He is so full of love and kindess, it makes me tear up with pride.

Jake -
Is almost 18 months old, and is our little monster angel. He is the most active child I have ever known, and I just can't keep up! He is hilarious, and truly a joy to be around. He wants to do everything that his big brother does, and its easy to see that he is going to be the risk-taker of the family. He says a few words, but loves to babble-talk. He's a smarty for sure, and I pray that his free spirit doesn't give Nate or I a heart attack one day.

Me! -
As of the beginning of January, I now stay at home. But don't let that fool you - I watch my best friends little girls (Kylie is a month younger than Jake, and Katelyn is 6 months old). So between the 3 babies, and getting Will to and from school, my days are packed! I am 16 weeks pregnant, and baby Maier is due on October 11. The title of our blog is now Chaotic Bliss... the word 'chaos' had to be used. It just had to be.
